the week beginning 20th January ’14 (Week 4)

This was always going to be a hard week. A lot of travel and some intense discussions. These week included a Registry workshop for INSPIRE at the JRC in Ispra as part of the INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation Group (MIG) work package. The idea was to share approaches and concepts that we are working on in different countries on the registries needed by INSPIRE and agree a way forward. A really useful discussion and we shared the work that we have been working on.

Other activities of the week included meetings to discuss and action our Open Data strategy implementation projects and I attended the Defra Geography working group to discuss approaches to government web mapping. On Friday we had the UK Government Linked Data Working Group (UKGovLD) with some discussions around the micro-site and mini guides.
